The St. Louis Cardinals are going to the World Series

Last year the St. Louis Cardinals failed to reach the World Series as they were beaten by the eventual world series champions, the San Francisco Giants. This year they are in the National League Championship this time against the popular team, Los Angeles Dodgers.

Today, the St. Louis Cardinal finally beat Los Angeles Dodger 9-0 with a very dominant pitching performance by the series MVP Michael Wacha. The Cardinal will wait for the winner Boston Red Sox - Detroit Tigers ALCS series as the World series will be held first on the American League Champions home field.

Football Season is here

September is one of the busiest season in the United States as Football (the American football sport not Soccer) Season starts this week. Both the National Football League (NFL) and College Football (NCAA) will be the topic of discussions by most American as this sport is one the most exciting sport of all.

I am one of few Filipinos who follows this sport as compared to the majority who are  basketball fanatics. If someone would ask why you prefer football over other professional sport? Simple. It only takes one game to determine the champion (compare to basketball, baseball or even hockey which would need 4 wins out of 7 games to determine the champion).

There are several Filipinos who play or has  played in the NFL: Eugene Amano formerly of the Tenesee Titans, Chris Gocong formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles and the most popular Manila born NFL player is Tim Tebow.

Upcoming Movie to Watch: RoboCop (The Remake)

The Original RoboCop was released in 1987 which stars Peter Weller and it's considered one of the acclaimed movies at that time. Next year, RoboCop the Reboot version is surprising good visually and as the trailer shows it has much better action. My only personal comment about the reboot is that the new RoboCop looks more like Judge Dredd than a cyborg supercop, but the rest of the movie looks promising.

Celebrity Sex Scandals: Why They Never Learn

Wally Bayola - Yosh Rivera Scandal
Sex Scandals have been one the most talk about topics in interwebs particularly in on social media to the point that it spreads like adding gasoline to already dangerous fire.

Recently there was the Chito Miranda - Neri Naig Sex Video on which the video was supposedly obtained from the stolen hard drive of the Mr. Miranda. Now there's a new one this time it's comedian Wally Bayola having a tryst with EB Babe Yosh Rivera.  This new sex scandal has a much harsher outcome as both personalties might lose their jobs and on the case of mr. Bayola he might go to prison for concubinage since he's married.

My take on this events is that why these celebrities risks on engaging on recording their "private moments" with the risk of being distributed illegally and spread it all over the Internet. In this day of age of the social media, Everyone should be responsible on what they do may it be "offline" or "online".

To end this blog post here are some words to live by:

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bone Trailer

I have been a fan of the young adult book series called The Mortal Instruments series by renowned author Cassandra Clare since last year and I was able to finish all of the five books (with the 6th and final book entitled City of Heavenly Fire which will be release next year). There were buzz that there will be a film adaptation of the book "City of Bones" which stars Lily Collins as Clary Fray and Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace Weyland.

As with other book-to-film titles this would be much anticipated film by the fans of the book and personally I would hope this film hold up and do the book justice.

Time to Reflect

It's been a while since I posted an update on my personal blog and good thing it's Holy Week which gave me some time to ponder and do some spiritual reflections. Clearing my mind from burdens of work and other things.

We all need the time for some spiritual reflection as this is the day that the Lord Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself for our sins.

May everyone has a safe Holy Week.

What is SEO? My personal explanation

A lot of people still does not understand what SEO is even though the said internet strategy has been around since the early incarnations of search engines. Working as an web designer/ webmaster and SEO specialist for quite sometime now I can share my two cents on what is SEO all about.

If we go over to wikipedia:

"SEO or Search Engine Optimization is "a process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic") search results.  In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search, news search and industry-specific vertical search engines".
Unlike Web Designing, Graphic Designing or Web Development on which once a website is built, you can now turn over the project to the client, SEO is an ongoing process since every website has its own degree of online presence, the better we do SEO to a website, the better we maintain his visibility on the first pages of each major search engines.
