My Blog got hacked because of a Virus

My Windows Operating system was infected by a virus named Worm.W32.Netsky and some of the effects of this virus is by "phising" on web services that needs your login info (blog, e-mail, etc.) and I just found out that a certain "Dr. Mark" has hacked my wordpress blog thru this effect (good thing I was able to fix the problem and change my password).

So what I did was download the fix and installed a professional 3rd party firewall software (Windows Firewall really sucked big time). But I suspect this is only a temporary remedy and I will continue on researching for a cure for this virus.

In the meantime I was fortunate though that my computer also has a Linux OS installed (as of this writing I am using the Linux OS for now.)

To those who wrote the virus...I million AMPF! to you.

Sunday Evening Blog: Company Christmas Party and More

Its another edition of Sunday blog post and I would start with the Christmas party that our company held at Water World Resort.

Christmas Party: A bonding of both Day and Night Shift Employees

Working for an outsourcing company is a great experience and for six plus months that I have been employed with the company that I haven't seen such a great event like our Christmas Party in which both Day and Nightshift agents enjoy each other company. Aside from the exchanging of gifts, we had some parlor games and of course some talented agents showing some of their talents.

Baby's First Church Mass

Earlier today was the very first time for Baby Venice to attend Church Mass. All through out the mass he was somewhat listening (although she doesn't understand yet, but it a good start for her Catholic life).

Despite The Transportation Strike, We Still Work

For those of us who work in an outsourcing company, today's transportation strike is not an excuse for us not to work because our clients don't care. If ever we can go to the office, a nearby internet cafe or better yet work at home.

I do sympathize with the protesters yet there are some other ways to resolve our nation's problems by trying to analyze the situation not by just going to the streets and do protests.

We Should Make a difference ourselves.

My PayPerPost Meme

What is PayPerPost?

PayPerPost is a website which helps content creators such as bloggers, videographers, podcasters and photographers find advertisers willing to sponsor specific content. The advertisers create opportunities that describe the content they are looking for. These opportunities are sometimes called blog ads. The bloggers then choose opportunities in their area of interest.Once the blogger has written a blog post or posted a video that matches the requirements, PayPerPost then reviews the post against its requirements and PayPerPost terms of service, and handles payment.

What is the reason why I signup for PayPerPost?

These folks pioneered the "get paid to blog" concept. Besides being the most popular paid blogging network, I've found that they always seem to have the most job opportunities available at any given time. PayPerPost pays bloggers anywhere from $5 to over $200 per completed and approved post.

Have I made new friends because of PayPerPost?

I met some of blogger friends through their posting of PayPerPost sponsored articles and blogs. They where the ones who encouraged me to signed up.

What are you going to do with all the money you earn?

Spend it wisely. Maybe I will buy a new laptop or any other stuff that I really like through online shops like Amazon.com or eBay.com.

Sunday Afternoon Blog: Blogging and DVD Movie Marathon

Today's edition of Sunday Afternoon blogs will be about my penchant for watching DVD movies and downloaded videos every Sunday Afternoon. This afternoon I did watch three videos: "Pirates of the Caribbean 3, and House M.D. Season 4 episodes 6 and 7.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End was my choice today because on my top list of "DVDs" to watch for this week. The 3rd installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean is about redemption and closure on the part of the main cast specially on the part of the lovers Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.

Most of my downloaded videos are the latest seasons of my favorite TV series like CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI:NY and House M.D. What I am excited most is House M.D. I've been following the series since the Pilot episode and I love Dr. Gregory House's style of humor, very unpredictable, direct to point and sometimes downright insulting.

Christmas / Holiday Shopping -- 4

In most places around the world, Christmas Day is celebrated on December 25. It is preceded by Christmas Eve on December 24, and in some countries is followed by Boxing Day (or Saint Stephen''s Day) on December 26. The Armenian Apostolic Church observes Christmas on January 6, while certain old rite or old style Eastern Orthodox Churches celebrate Christmas on January 7, the date on the Gregorian calendar which corresponds to 25 December on the Julian Calendar. The date as a birthdate for Jesus is merely traditional, and is not widely considered to be his actual date of birth.

Fantasy Football -- Week 10

public display of affection
It's in the news ... 12 year old gets detention for hugging a friend who had recently lost a parent. Where should we darw the line?

Christmas / Holiday Shopping -- 2

We seem to tie up a lot of emotion in the Holidays, and maybe our shopping is a release and / or an amplification of that emotion.

Sunday Afternoon Blog: Addicted to Facebook and Squidoo

The Facebook

It's been a while since I posted a non-survey blog. I've been so pre-occupied with Facebook applications I almost forgot to login on my other social network accounts. Aside from the games and other cool apps on Facebook I was able to add some celebrities and known personalities on Facebook like Rachel Alejandro, Aisa Agcaoili, Aliya Parcs, etc.

The Squidoo

Another website that I have been preoccupied is Squidoo.com. This started during our SEO training when we are required to create a squidoo account because that will be use to determine our SEO skills by monitoring the "lense" ranking. I found that you can earn money on squidoo by referring items from Amazon.com thru their Amazon "module".

Alternative News ... What the Heck!

Wide range of Alternative news weeklies that are cover most of the U.S. and Canada. What ties them all together are point-of-view-reporting; the use of strong, direct language; a tolerance for individual freedoms and social differences; and an eagerness to report news that many mainstream media outlets would rather ignore.

Food Allergies ... Whaddya Know?

More than 11 million Americans have food allergies of varying degrees of severity, at least 8% of children less than 3 years of age and 2% of adults in the United States have food allergies.

Shopping -- Gotta Do It

To many shopping is a recreational activity. To some, shopping is a task of inconvenience and vexation. Shoppers sometimes are early adopters. Sometimes buyers feel ripoff-ed. Sometimes shoppers get caught up in a scam. And some are shopoholics.

2007 Major League Baseball World Series: Colorado Rockies vs. Boston Red Sox

For those of you who are Baseball fanatics, The World Series is up and Game 1 will be played tomorrow at Boston, Massachusetts. The participants will be underdog Colorado Rockies against the Major Leagues best team, the Boston Red Sox.

Majority for sure will bet on the Red Sox because they are a consistent team, their pitching staff is one of the best in baseball which includes Josh Beckett, Tim Wakefield, Jonathan Papelbon, Eric Gagne and Curt Schilling.

I also betting on the Red Sox to win their 2nd championship title in 3 years.

Sunday Afternoon Blog: Bonding with Venice

Hello everyone, my latest post would be focused on my experiences as a father to baby Venice. Its been two weeks and the more days has passed, the more she becomes an "angel" to me. As always there will be times that she wakes up and cries on the wee hours of the morning. It's natural because baby usually feed every 4 hours or so. My lack of sleep is not an excuse for me not to go to work by 8AM because ako ang padre de pamilya .

I'm not complaining about the hardships because it part of being a responsible parent to take care of their children what every the cost. 'Till next time.

programming
The Programming Mind

When I was still in college, I always like the idea of programming because of the cool softwares (web stuffs) that we can develop from it (*Sigh, electrical engineering was also cool before I learned computers). I may have learned web developing on my own by researching on the net and some proper training by attending short courses in web developing but still the I am envious of the fact of some of my colleagues are "experts" in Visual Basic, .NET, C#/C++ , Java and other programming languages that is known. The desire to learn was and still is running through my head, yet patience has been one of my weakness when in terms of learning stuffs that I barely understand (though I got through learning HTML, PHP and Javascripting).

Persiverance is now my motto when I think about learning programming.

To start off, I am downloading some open source Development IDEs (Integrated Development Editors) particularly Eclipse IDE and Aptana WEB IDE since I'm planning to some programming (for non-uber geeks, Eclipse is a versatile software editor for developing Java, C++, Ruby On Rails, PHP and other open source projects).

Another Saturday Afternoon Blogging

It's another weekend of blogging for me and I'm back at Basti's Brew (Kasagingan had a problem with their internet connection so I had to "reroute" my butt off to Basti's Brew here in Victoria Plaza (for those who are not familiar with place, its in Davao City, Philippines).

It was a busy week for me as I am undergoing another set of web programming training (for those who in the web developing business I'm undergoing training for web application frameworks, particularly CodeIgniter and CakePHP). It was "a head squeezing" training yet if got this it would reallybenefit me in the long run ( i'm planning on building the blog section of my website around Codeigniter like my friend Roy's website ).

Glad to have to be working for a international company that has only 5 working days (unlike in local-based companies that work until Saturday) because I have an extra day quality time for family (My wife and I are expecting our first baby :D).
