Live Writing Again

It’s been a while since I used Window Live Writer since most of the time there’s an internet connect, Yet as of this writing, the internet connection here at home is still intermittent for the past three days now. I don’t know why that everytime there’s a rain, the out ISP connection bugs out. *sigh*.

I would that by the time this blog post gets posted online, that our ISP (which I will is called “PLDT”) would finally stabilize their internet connection.

New Blogging Project: iTouch Blogger

I recently acquired an iPod Touch 3G (32 GB) and I use it to listening to my favorite music, to watch some TV series and movies on the go, listening to podcasts and to catch on my social networks (Facebook and Twitter) and of course blogging thru that very device.

As a result, I decided to create a new blogging project called "iTouch Blogger" which will talk about the iPod Touch and the iPhone, the applications and the concept of mobile blogging.

I will updating that blog mostly from the iTouch itself and will only do designs updates thru my laptop.

blog portal
If your a blogger and maintain several blogs and websites then blog portals are the best solution to that problem. Blog Portals are websites in which all your blog feeds are being aggregated in one single URL for easy promotion and sharing.

Currently, I'm using Feedcluster.com as my blog portal aggregator of choice. You can create any number of aggregators based on blogs' niche. It also has a widget option f your new aggregator to your blog post for more extensive internet traffic.

Please do follow my blogs thru my blog portal (http://cnsq.feedcluster.com/ ) I will be adding more of my blogs as I go along.

I'm encouraging bloggers who maintain more than one blog to use blog portals, it really helps in terms of sharing and promotion.

Exploring New Technologies

Exploring new technologies is one of the jobs of a TDO (Training and Development Officer) and I decided to satisfy my curiosity on Movable Type.

Movable Type is a weblog publishing system developed by the company Six Apart. It was publicly announced on 3 September 2001, and version 1.0 was publicly released on 8 October 2001. On 12 December 2007, Movable Type was relicensed as free software under the GNU General Public License.

To continue with my exploration, I decided to install Movable Type under the subfolder of my CNSQWEB.com site. All my findings and reviews about the blogging platform will be chronicled on that very blog.

Sunday Afternoon Blog: Managing RSS feeds and blog commenting

Last Night was our company's 1st year anniversary and because I was excited to blog about it, I made a last minute blog about it before I went to sleep.

Managing RSS Feeds:
As of late, I have been revisiting blogs and websites that I'm very interested in to like some of my friends's blog and some of the blogs/websites relating to web developing, SEO and graphic designing.

My iGoogle was my first RSS aggregator that I use but since more blog/websites that I like to follow, my iGoogle now has become crowded so I resorted on install Feed Demon on my laptop to manage the RSS feeds. Though I will still use iGoogle for my sports news and blogger friends' blog update, new RSS feeds will now go through my Feed Demon client application.

Blog Commenting
I haven't been doing some blog commenting as of late because of my busy schedule at work so I took this opportunities to do some blog commenting on some my friends' blogs as well as on some of the blogs which have web development niches.

A Virus That Everybody Wants to Catch

If you wanna avoid catching a virus, here's one that I think that would change your mind. This one is called The Indie Virus.

This virus is a viral linking campaign experiment started byChris Pearson in which his goals are:

  • To bring exposure to lesser known blogs (especially those outside of Technorati’s top 100)

  • To explore the metrics behind a viral linking campaign launched by the “little guys” (less popular blogs)

Here are the Rules if you wanna join this experiment.

Participating in The Indie Virus is easy. All you’ve got to do is link to lesser known blogs from within a post (or two, or eleventeen), but you have to make sure that the anchor text of your link is The Indie Virus. This is critical, because in order to track the experiment, I’ll be searching for the phrase “The indie Virus” on common engines like Technorati, Google, and Yahoo! Oh, and also, make sure that you link directly to a post WITH A TRACKBACK and not to the site itself - it speaks louder!

So, a sample link would be coded up like this: The Indie Virus. Got it?

Some Blogging Tips That Worth Trying

If Only Blogging Were Easy…
I was reading some of PinoyBlogero's post when one of his post caught my attention. He posted about tips on how to get a lot of topics your blogs depending on the niche you are into. Personally this really helps because my niches are usually about "web development", "graphic design", "search engine optimization" , "blogging" and of course "heavy metal music".

Here are list down his tips:

  • Feeds - Subscribing to blogs that you find interesting or within your niche

  • Blog Aggregator - MindanaoBlogger.com is an example of a blog aggregator

  • Google Alerts - Google Alerts is a nifty feature from Google that alerts the user if there are newly indexed posts under a specific keyword

  • Twitter- Some bloggers make use of Twitter to twit about their new posts or interesting articles that they have discovered

  • Mailing Lists - you find any interesting groups or community on yahoo or google, you can susbcribe to their mailing list.

  • Forums - forums are one of the best possible sources that every blogger should hunt down, people like to disc

I've been so busy at work for the past week that I wasn't able to update some of my blogs. So I made it a point that I could update some of the blogs. I just recently migrated/converted my website CNSQ Online from PHP/CSS template based site into a Wordpress powered site. I also updated my Web Developer Squidoo Lens so that I can receive some $$ by the end of the month (hopefully the new content would help ;D).

Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator Seminar At Fwendz Diner

The last monday I got a message from my good friend Christopher Cubos that he will be conducting a free seminar on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator along with some of his friends in the IT business RangingMon and Timothy Te. Unfortunately Timothy didn't make it so Chris was able to get Ted Padova to demonstrate to us Adobe Illustrator. Some of my offciemates where able to make it and was awed by the number of attendees (and the beautiful ladies :D).

Ted Padova demonstrates Adobe Illustrator

Sir Ted was able to show us the flexibility of Adobe Illustrator unlike its counterpart, Corel Draw. It now supports 3D designing and .ai designs can now be exported into flash by animating each layers of the design into frames.

Chris Cubos inserting a PSD file into Dreamweaver CS3

Up Next was Chris Cubos. He demonstrates to us how to use Photoshop CS3 for web designing together with Adobe Dreamweaver CS3. Since being bought by Adobe, the Dreamweaver software has come a long way as the industry standard in web designing and web developing.

RagingMon demonstrates the new features on Photoshop CS3

Up Next was RagingMon, who was tasked by Chris Cubos to demonstrate Adobe Photoshop's new features as well as the wonders of desingning in Photoshop using layers.

Increase Traffic

I'm not talking about the metropolis traffic here but traffic in your blog and websites. when i started blogging, my main purpose was just to write anything and everything. I thought of it as a perfect outlet of my thoughts. It was a place where I could share a 2 cents of myself to the world wide web.

Things have pretty much changed over the years and increasing traffic to one's site has become an important task. I have recently signed up with Buzzfuse which would help me increase the traffic to my site for free. Yes, it's free as in free water. The sign up was really easy and if you are dissatisfied with the service you can, at any time, unsubscribe. This will really help me in a lot of ways. I get the chance to "market" my site without really doing much work as they will do it for me.

Use Buzzfuse* to easily rate, review, and share this item

Its better to bookmark all the sites you like using these tools for easy retrival. StumbleUpon is also a social network site, so you could meet some new friends while "stumbling" on new sites.

Squidoo toolbar
here's an add-on for those having a Squidoo lens account.

TwitterFox
a third party - Firefox addon that you can use to post your twits for Twitter. You can also see your friends' latest using its pop-up alert.

To increase your traffic and some SEO tips

Express Submit your Blog
Submitting your blog to all search engines and directory is a very tedious task. To lessen the load, you can submit your site using Express Submit . They have a free service that would submit your site to over 40 search engine site in just one submission.

Blog Hopping
Blog hopping is method on which you jump from one blog to another using the blog site's link list or blog rolls. If the blog site has has a shout box installed leave a message requesting for exchanging of links.
