Changes

It been a very long time since a posted an updated here because a lot has change since the second half of the year. I have moved on from the company that I have worked for over 4 years into a new "family" and although on this new "family" I am in, there are some of my old friends from the old company that are also working in this new "family" of mine. Although my work here is basically not the same as my last work, I still do teaching on weekends since teaching Web Designing and SEO is now part of my professional endeavors.

Although changes are cumbersome yet these will benefit me in the long run as my life has became routinary and boring and change is very much a welcome event.

The Hof Gorei Beach Resort Escapade

This is a late post as this happened on July 17, 2010. We visited Hof Gorei Beach Resort (located at Kaputian, Island Garden City of Samal ) as part of our company's team building workshop. I won't be able to talk more about the place since I was to busy with the team building but I would say that we had a good time on that place.

The Transitional Life

My life now is considered in transition as me and my family are embarking on a "transitional" phase as we have now moved into a new residence away (but not really far away from my parents house) since my daughter is fast growing up and I would like to inject some "independence" on our daily undertakings.

We are still adjusting to the new environment which somewhat better that the previous residence (e.g. the room is bigger on the new place and it's much nearer to my workplace cutting down travel time by at least 5 minutes or so).

The only problem that I have with my new residence is that there is no internet connection yet and currently scouting possibilities what type of internet service I am gonna get and honestly I cannot live without the internet now that its part of my life.

Office Christmas Party and Mother-in-Law's Birthday

I really enjoyed my weekend because I got to be in two important events: Our company's Christmas party and my Mother-in-Law's birthday.

Update: Here are the pictures from of the AoV 2008 Christmas Party

Eversun Software Davao Christmas Party
The much anticipated Christmas party last night was very enjoyable with almost all of our agents attending the festivities. The event was held at the Mergrande Beach Resort dome just beside their pool area. The place was big with good sound system and a band setup (thanks to our resident DJ/Agent Supervisor Althone Borja).

I was in charge of documenting the event so I was able to borrow one of our agent's video camera and my trusty Sony Cybershot digital camera for pictures. Raphael Banta was in charge of doing the bulk of the picture shooting because he's using his Nikon D40 dSLR camera. Don't worry guys picture will be uploaded nextweek before Christmas.

Aside from our usual exchanging of gifts, we also have some fun parlor games and of course a live band which includes several talented agents and some session musicians.

I would hope that next year's party will be as fun as this.

Nanay's Birthday
We celebrated my Mother-In-Law's birthday with a small get together at their house in Toril with my wife and of course our every enegetic baby daughter, Venice Marie.

Zoho Office Suite: Managing my work online

Before I go on with my personal experience about this great online application. I would like to enlighten you about Zoho Office Suite.

Zoho Office Suite is an online office suite which includes tools for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, note-taking, wikis, CRM, project management, invoicing and other applications. Like the better-known Google Docs, Zoho applications are web-based and therefore operating system independent.
source: Wikipedia.org

Zoho is indeed a good online application which helped me lessen the hassles of installing office application on my laptop which would eat up my hard disk space. Also the advantage of accessing your work regardless of which computer you are using was refreshing that sometime I can finish some of my work at home.

In my opinion, Zoho is much better than Google Docs in the sense that I can support older browsers like Linux's Epiphany and other similar browsers which on Google Docs doesn't support.

1st Day at the New Office

It's my first day working on our new office. It's much better because it's spacious and I got to have my own private area :D, and the location is a nearer to my house than the previous one. Also we have more options on where to buy food (we are surrounded by restaurants and pizza parlors hehehe)

You can see more pictures on the link below:

Updating, updates and more updates...

I've been so busy at work that I didn't have time to update some of my blogs, Am I losing interest? I hope not sayang din ang pinaghirapan na mga PR3 and PR4 ranks. So I am now making a "schedule" on my trusty "mini notebook" and if read any interesting stuff, I would write it down and blog about it later.

My reason that I'm busy because I'm try to build traffic on my Squidoo lens because its almost the end of May and I am expecting some "Squid-cash" coming in by June.

Eversun Software Philippines Davao anniversary

Today was the 1st year anniversary of our company, Eversun Software Philippines Corporation - Davao Branch. We just concluded our anniversary party which includes singing performances and parlor games which were participated by both day and night shift agents.

My role on the party to be the event photographer (which I volunteered), I was using two digital cameras because our company digicam has a slow "refresh" rate, so use my personal digicam on some of the most important shots.

Sunday Evening Blog: Updates, updates and more update...

I've been so busy at work for the past week that I wasn't able to update some of my blogs. So I made it a point that I could update some of the blogs. I just recently migrated/converted my website CNSQ Online from PHP/CSS template based site into a Wordpress powered site. I also updated my Web Developer Squidoo Lens so that I can receive some $$ by the end of the month (hopefully the new content would help ;D).

CNSQ Online re-launched

Finally, I was able to finish migrating and customizing my website (now running on Wordpress 2.5). The reason why I migrated my website from a PHP/CSS template-base to wordpress-platform is because, I don't have the luxury of time to do more coding ever since I became a family man.

Wordpress 2.5 is so far easier to manage and most of my updates are in a form of blog so it's no different from the old format. I still have to migrate my portfolio section yet but I would be fine for now.

Saturday Afternoon Blog: Rainy Weekend and Double Duty

Rainy Week

I would sum up the weekend with two words: "La Niña". The whole week was so rainy to the point that most of the people are having colds. Fortunately, I haven't got the colds yet. Taking hot baths and drinking a lot of water has prevented me from catching the colds. What's been bugging me at night is when the frogs are doing their "croaking orchestra" after the rain has stopped.

Dual duty at work
I've been really busy at work because I have been doing my web developing and training applicants at the same time. I'm glad that I now have help with my client. Soon, I'll be a full time trainer in the upcoming weeks or so.

A Day with the Company VIP's

Yesterday, Our President and CEO paid a visit in our branch to have some meetings with us in the administration. We had a long conversation with sir Danny regarding some of my upcoming training activities that I will conduct soon. Aside from the meetings we also had our lunch out with the VIP's at the RoadHouse Restaurant in SM City Mall and our diner at Dencio's Hilltop.

No Power? Longer Work Hours

Because of the blackout that went almost 6 hours long, our work has been rescheduled. Either we could comply the 6 hours of unused time by working on offset hours after the regular work schedule or work on this coming Saturday.

Since working on Saturday is not possible because of my wife's weekly checkup with the obstetrician, I took the other option on working 2 additional hours for three consecutive days, though I'm allowed to work the offset hours at home.

Well its a company policy to comply the time occurred during situations like power outages.
