Been a long time..

It's been a long time since I posted an update on this blog of mine. Several reason why... lost my appetite to write, got busy more on social media, finishing my 2nd course, family responsibilities and so on.

Fortunately for now got some spare time. I might probably post some or two in a week depending on my availability.  But if you wanna check out my social media activity you can check out my Twitter (@cesarnoel) and my Instagram (@cesarnoel).

What is Bitcoin

For the uninitiated about Bitcoin, Bitcoin is a form of digital currency, created and held electronically. No one controls it. Bitcoins aren’t printed, like dollars or euros – they’re produced by people, and increasingly businesses, running computers all around the world, using software that solves mathematical problems.

Waze App gets a celebrity Navigator Voice

If you are using the Waze app to avoid traffic, you will be surprise to know that the app developers has recently added the voice of renowned actor Morgan Freeman's voice as one of the app's navigator voice.  Just imagine this voice over while navigating to work or to any destination. Personally it gives me the chills. I would hope they would add Sean Connery as the next celebrity to do the navigation voice.

SuperBowl XL: A Match-Up Of Two Top Draft Picks

The 50th installment of SuperBowl would be a match up between two of the league's top draft picks yet have different paths to success. It would be a battle of Quarterbacks with distinct style of plays. Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning has epitome of old school quarterback play to go along with his legendary football intelligence. In contrast, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton, who is also potential league MVP, has lead his team to a impressive 15-1 record behind his playmaking skills as both a passer and a runner.

Despite the contrast in quarterback plays, both teams basically have the same philosophy as teams both run the ball to set up the pass and both teams play have very tough defense to compliment their respective offenses.

This game is possibly Peyton Manning's final game as he hopes to end his career on top and capture his second Superbowl title since winning one for the Indianapolis Colts. For Cam Newton, it's about becoming the new face of the league and to lead his team to the very first SuperBowl title in franchise history.

The transition from engineer to an IT professional

First and foremost, I'm glad to be back blogging despite being busy as a family man and also transitioning myself into a full fledged information technologist soon.

The personal transition from an engineer to information technologist basically was a smooth one since most of my mathematics subjects where basically the same with the only difference is Discrete Mathematics.

My foundation as an engineer center around the use of applied mathematics (meaning math was used for purpose of solving real world problems like in physics or in.. engineering). In information technology, the foundation is mostly focused on programming and some electronics which I can say is closely related. The math is mostly focused on logical analysis.

Despite the difference, I felt that I was having some review of the mathematics that I have learn through the years which is refreshing.

Ingress: Arguably The Best Augmented Reality Game Every Created

Ingress is an augmented reality, massive multiplayer online, GPS online game that created by Niantic Labs, a startup within Google. The game originally can be played only on Android devices but has recently been ported to Apple's iOS devices.

The gameplay consists of establishing "portals" at places with religious and geographic landmarks, great architectural works, etc, and linking them to produce a virtual triangular fields over geographic areas. Progress in the game is measured by the number of "mind units" (MUs).

The game consists of two factions, the Enlightened (which is represented by the color green ) and the Resistance (which is represented by the color blue).

To my fellow bloggers who are either travel bloggers or frequently travel to various places, this kind of game would suit your lifestyle.

Lessons Learn From the Leaked Jennifer Lawrence Nude Photos Scandal

The Internet is a very a nice tool that we use to get information and to interact with other people.  Unfortunately though it can be a detrimental to an individual if that person is not careful. The latest news about the Jennifer Lawrence,  Kate Upton,  et al. nude photos that were leaked online through hacked iCloud accounts only shows that online privacy is not what it seems.

As a person who has worked in the Information Technology industry, the only REAL online security is NOT to take the photos and videos at all.

So to everyone who already took racy photos or videos of themselves or with your significant others,  you should start making efforts on moving your materials into a more offline AND secure storage.  For those who thinking of doing it for the first time,  I suggest you don't. If you think your mobile devices are secured you might want to think again and ask yourself "Is it worth the risk?"

The San Antonio Spurs are the 2014 NBA Champions

Finally after a year being robbed of a title the San Antonio Spurs finally captured their 5th NBA title from the Miami Heat in an all-out beat down winning the series 4-1.

As always the Spurs old-school style of play has been their key to success. Passing the ball like the Harlem Globetrotter which is so amazing to watch.
