It's time for some Sex and the City

I haven't saw the movie, yet I'm sure this movie would be a fitting ending to the Sex And the City series. For those of you how haven't follow the series itself, Sex and the City is a story about sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) and her three friends and their exploits about each others relationships, escapades and fashion sense. You can read more info about the series here.

From a half hour cable show, to the BIG screen. On TV, SATC wry look at Manhattan's dating scene that was more about female friendship than sex, though there was plenty of that. Will the movie live up to the series?

I was given an award by my co-blogger/worker and friend Aubrey. I thank you for the award that you gave me.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
3) Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.
4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte y Pico" blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award. http://arteypico.blogspot.com/

Sunday Afternoon Blog: Watching "The Bank Job"

Sunday Afternoon was another R and R moment for me. This time the movie titled "The Bank Jobs".

What makes this movie interesting is that the movie is based on a 1971 true-life robbery of a bank in Baker Street, London, from which the money and valuables stolen were never recovered. The story was prevented from being told because of a D-Notice government gagging request, allegedly to protect a prominent member of the British Royal Family.

For full plot summary of the movie click here

Saturday afternoon DVD watch

Since today is a Saturday, I have no work, so I decided to watch some of the DVD's on my mom's DVD collection container. I was able to watch three movies which are Fantastic Four 2, National Treasure 2 and Gabriel.

Of the three movies, I was impressed with National Treasure 2 and Gabriel. I will be doing a review of National Treasure later around nextweek on my Blog-A-Wenyo blog but I did a short review on Gabriel

David Cook Wins American Idol but Renaldo Lapuz stole the show

We all know that David Cook won the American Idol over David Archuleta by a whopping 12 million votes yet a Filipino has stolen the show.

Renaldo Lapuz, a Filipino-American contest who was eliminated during the earlier auditions was given a spot on the show because of his eccentric outfit , singing the now infamous self-written song "We're Brothers Forever" which he dedicated to idol judge Simon Cowell.During his performance on the show, he was given a marching band which later on Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson joined him on stage.

The song and performance will go down in "American Idol" history and may become bigger than William Hung's rendition of "She Bangs". The infectious appeal of this song is similar to that of Tay Zonday's "Chocolate Rain", which has over 13 million views on YouTube

In my humble opinion, he might become the next William Hung who gain fame despite lacking the talent or better.

The 2008 Presidential Election : More celebrity involvment

I read from a website that there are a lot celebrities getting involve in campaigning for their US presidential candidate. Even in some prime time TV series like House there some campaign materials that are involve

When House is in the bathroom talking to Thirteen, there is a bumper sticker on the wall for "Change '08". This is a nod to Barack Obama, whom Olivia Wilde, the actress who portrays Thirteen, has campaigned for.

Sunday Afternoon Blog: Managing RSS feeds and blog commenting

Last Night was our company's 1st year anniversary and because I was excited to blog about it, I made a last minute blog about it before I went to sleep.

Managing RSS Feeds:
As of late, I have been revisiting blogs and websites that I'm very interested in to like some of my friends's blog and some of the blogs/websites relating to web developing, SEO and graphic designing.

My iGoogle was my first RSS aggregator that I use but since more blog/websites that I like to follow, my iGoogle now has become crowded so I resorted on install Feed Demon on my laptop to manage the RSS feeds. Though I will still use iGoogle for my sports news and blogger friends' blog update, new RSS feeds will now go through my Feed Demon client application.

Blog Commenting
I haven't been doing some blog commenting as of late because of my busy schedule at work so I took this opportunities to do some blog commenting on some my friends' blogs as well as on some of the blogs which have web development niches.

Customer Service or Customer No Service - Part Fuur

Online customer surveys are used for various reasons, to include your evaluation of general site experience and evaluation of online customer service. Let's call them "online pop-up surveys".

Eversun Software Philippines Davao anniversary

Today was the 1st year anniversary of our company, Eversun Software Philippines Corporation - Davao Branch. We just concluded our anniversary party which includes singing performances and parlor games which were participated by both day and night shift agents.

My role on the party to be the event photographer (which I volunteered), I was using two digital cameras because our company digicam has a slow "refresh" rate, so use my personal digicam on some of the most important shots.

Attending the Davao E-Commerce Meet

 Davao E-Commerce Meet
Last Monday, I read from Janette Toral's blog that there will be a Davao E-Commerce Meet here today at Toto's Bar, 6th floor Casa Leticia Hotel, at J. Camus St., Davao City.

I was contemplating at first to whether to attend or not since it will start at 4pm. (1 hour before my work ends). But decided that I would join the event after work because it a rare opportunity to meet other bloggers, web developers, web designers, and other IT professionals.

I'll post the update after the event.

For those of you who want to have your own domain name yet can afford to buy your own ".com", ".net" or ".org" extension, then you should try ".co.cc". Co.cc provides you with your very own domain name using the ".co.cc" and its free.

What nice about this is that you can use the domain name to customize your blogger blog 's domain name into you very own domain name. I just registered "http://www.cnsqlbogs.co.cc" for this blog and I am planning to propagate this during my downtime so that I can still update this blog during the week.

The Reincarnation: The return of Archmage/Magewars

The Reincarnation

Massive Online games (MOG) has been on since late 1990's which includes famous games like Utopia and Dominion. But in 2004 here's one MOG that has been raving at the time and that was Archmage Wars or Mage Wars in short. Magewar has been a one of the tip MOG games and it was frequently played because the game is faster than Utopia and Dominion and if you are in the card game, MAGIC:THE GATHERING, Magewars was like the online version of it.

Around 2006, the developers of Magewars has some problems maintaining the game due to lack of funding, a lot of player where disappointed of the outcome but after about two years of inactivity, Magewars has returned with the new name "The Reincarnation". Developers has reincarnated Archmages with a new stable server and new features that would make past and present player wanna play this game more.

As of late, they recently added a wiki section to help new player understand the game better.

Sunday Afternoon Blogs: Happy Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day and I would like to say "Happy Mother's Day!" to all the mothers out there. Since today is mother's Day, we treated our mother lunch at Roadhouse Cafe at SM City Mall after our usually weekend grocery.

The place was packed as usual because this resto is famous for their baby back ribs and sizzling pochero. However, since I'm trying to get myself in shape, I ordered Chicken Teriyaki. I've also came across some of my high school batchmates.

After the meal, I took the picture of my wife and baby together with my mom.

Customer Service or Customer No Service

customer service

Is customer service rare in today's capitalistic society? According to a survey in USA Today, Customer Service is the #1 reason people choose to stay with a company long-term. Customer service is a series of activities designed to enhance the level of customer satisfaction ? that is, the feeling that a product or service has met the customer expectation.

Blog-A-Wenyo Blog acknowledged by Klaudia Koronel herself

I was exploring the MabuhayCity site when I read Ms. Klaudia Koronel's blog on this site itself. There on that blog she acknowledge those who help spread the MabuhayCity.com site.

Aside from Mike Abundo, My other blog has also received acknowledgment from Ms. Koronel herself and she included the screenshot of my blog.

I would like to thank her for acknowledging my blog.

A Virus That Everybody Wants to Catch

If you wanna avoid catching a virus, here's one that I think that would change your mind. This one is called The Indie Virus.

This virus is a viral linking campaign experiment started byChris Pearson in which his goals are:

  • To bring exposure to lesser known blogs (especially those outside of Technorati’s top 100)

  • To explore the metrics behind a viral linking campaign launched by the “little guys” (less popular blogs)

Here are the Rules if you wanna join this experiment.

Participating in The Indie Virus is easy. All you’ve got to do is link to lesser known blogs from within a post (or two, or eleventeen), but you have to make sure that the anchor text of your link is The Indie Virus. This is critical, because in order to track the experiment, I’ll be searching for the phrase “The indie Virus” on common engines like Technorati, Google, and Yahoo! Oh, and also, make sure that you link directly to a post WITH A TRACKBACK and not to the site itself - it speaks louder!

So, a sample link would be coded up like this: The Indie Virus. Got it?

Sunday Afternoon Blog: At Kasagingan with My Family

I haven't been to Kasagingan since last March because I have been too busy at home. So my wife and I (with my baby daughter) decided to visit the place after shopping at SM.

The place was almost full (as expected because a lot of yuppies hangout at Kasagingan on weekends) when we arrive. Good thing there was a vacant spot with nearby power outlet since my laptop is running low on it batteries.

After settling in on our area and powering my laptop and connecting to the internet thru their free Wi-Fi service, my wife ordered Tiramisu , and I ordered Crema de Cardia and Coke Lite. Since I have committed on getting in shape, I told my wife that this would be only my last occasion on consuming sweets(grinning at her).

For those who wanna check out the place, Kasagingan can be found at F. Torres St., Davao City just beside Banoks and fronting Kibuwi.

Digg.com: No longer user friendly

For those of you who have Digg accounts, please be very very very CAREFUL what stories you submit or "digg" because your might get banned without warning. Also don't open your Digg acounts on public terminals (Internet Cafe's or Offices) because they would suspect your IP add and will quickly ban your account without any warning whatsoever.

My previous account was banned because they suspected my account of "submitting" spam. Yesterday, I signed up for another account, yet today I got the dreaded "An unknown fatal exception has occurred Whoa! Something blew up. If you think you reached this error in error please do not hesitate to contact support." which I suspect that my new account will be ban even though I haven't submitted any stories yet.

Some Blogging Tips That Worth Trying

If Only Blogging Were Easy…
I was reading some of PinoyBlogero's post when one of his post caught my attention. He posted about tips on how to get a lot of topics your blogs depending on the niche you are into. Personally this really helps because my niches are usually about "web development", "graphic design", "search engine optimization" , "blogging" and of course "heavy metal music".

Here are list down his tips:

  • Feeds - Subscribing to blogs that you find interesting or within your niche

  • Blog Aggregator - MindanaoBlogger.com is an example of a blog aggregator

  • Google Alerts - Google Alerts is a nifty feature from Google that alerts the user if there are newly indexed posts under a specific keyword

  • Twitter- Some bloggers make use of Twitter to twit about their new posts or interesting articles that they have discovered

  • Mailing Lists - you find any interesting groups or community on yahoo or google, you can susbcribe to their mailing list.

  • Forums - forums are one of the best possible sources that every blogger should hunt down, people like to disc

Get Me There

Car travel
We move around a lot to get from one place to another -- walk, car, bus, cab, bike, motorcycle, plane, train ... let's talk about your commute.

My Digg Account got buried by Digg, Dugged a new One.

I was wondering that it's been quite a while that i can't access my Digg account it alway say there's an error so I emailed their support. I was shocked that my account was reported to have violated Terms of Service.

Your account was reported to us as being in violation of our Terms of Service (http://digg.com/tos) for submitting spam. Because we must be vigilant in protecting against activities that compromise the Digg community, this decision is final and irreversible.

I was so disappointed because I was not given a chance to explain or any warning of any violation. So what I did was to register another account using another email account but this new account will be used exclusive on my favorite topics and some of my blogger friends stories. I'm now careful on the the stories that I digg.

Labor Day Blog

Today is Labor day and since our beloved Philippine president didn't move it to Friday we have no work. So I spent most my day bonding with my daughter although I went to the Gym by 10AM. In the afternoon my would like to visit the Pink Sister in Catalunan Grande to offer some prayers so that my brother and his family would be assigned here in Philippines. It's been 20+ years since we seen each other.

After visiting the Pink Sister, we then proceed to Pico Bello at the 5th floor of Gaisano South Mall. We ordered 3 different flavors of Italian Style Pizza because my brother and my sister-in-law has been raving how delicious the pizzas in Pico Bello. When the pizza where served, I excited got one slice of Pizza Hawaii. It was delicious, the taste of an Italian thin-crust pizza can be tasted from just the first bite. I was amazed that I was able to eat the whole tray :D. Sira na naman workout ko nito hehehe pero babawi ako next week(It ruined my workout but I'll make it up next week).

Pictures of this event will be posted tomorrow.
